We recently shared our four favorite dog treat recipes….but wait… we have more! These treats are 5 ingredients or less so they are easy, relatively quick to prep and healthy for your pup. You know exactly what’s in them, you can easily adjust the portion sizes to fit your dog’s needs and they’ll make your kitchen smell great!

Dogs LOVE peanut butter so our first recipe is:

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Treats

2 eggs

1/2 C canned pumpkin puree

2 T peanut butter

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

2 1/2 C almond or coconut flour

Whisk together the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter and cinnamon. Add water as needed to make the dough workable. Roll into 1/2 inch thick roll and cut into 1/2 inch slices. Bake at 350° until hard, about 40 minutes.

 

APPLE CHEDDAR DOG BISCUITS

2c barley flour

1/3c shredded cheddar

1/2c old fashioned oats

1/4c grated parmesan

2T olive oil

Preheat oven to 350. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Mix all ingredients + 3T water to form dough. Roll out between 2 sheets of plastic wrap to 1/4 inch. Cut out bones with cookie cutter. Space 1 inch apart on sheet. Bake 30 min. Transfer to wire rack to cool.

BLUEBERRY APPLE DONUTS FOR DOGS

2 1/2c old fashioned oats

1/2c unsweetened applesauce

2 eggs

2T-4T water

1/4c dried blueberries

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the oats in a food processor and pulse to make flour. Pour ground oats in bowl and add egg, and applesauce. If the dough is crumbly. add 2T of water. Add water by T until the dough holds its form. Scoop balls of dough and place on the cookie sheet. Flatten with a spatula. Bake 15-20 min. Cool on wire rack.

Bacon Dog Biscuits

1 1/2c wheat flour

1/2c wheat germ

1 large egg

1/2 melted bacon fat

Preheat the oven to 350. Combine all ingredients and mix by hand until dough forms. Roll onto floured surface and roll to 1/2 inch thickness. cut into 1×4 inch bars. poke divots into bars and bake 20 min on cookie sheet until lightly browned. Turn off oven. flip bars over and put back in the oven until cool.

 

PAW PRINT DOG TREATS

2c flour

1/2c brewers yeast

1/2 wheat germ

3T canola oil

2T salt

1 1/2c low sodium chicken stock

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine flour, wheat germ, yeast, and salt. Place canola oil in large bowl. Add flour mix in 3 additions alternating with a 1/2 of chicken stock each time. Knead dough on floured surface for 2 min. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick. Cut out rounds with 2 inch fluted cutter. Transfer to baking sheet. Make indent in bottom half of circle with your thumb. Make 4 equally spaced indents at top with your pinky, to create the pawprint design. Freeze 15 min/ Bake 20 min. Brush with chicken stock halfway through baking. Turn oven off and let biscuits stand in oven for 40 min.

FLAXSEED BISCUITS

12oz wheat flour

12oz bread flour

2oz wheat germ

1tsp salt

2T brown sugar

3 eggs 

1c vegetable oil

3oz powdered dry milk

1c water

3-4T flaxseed- ground

Combine flour, wheat germ, salt, brown sugar. Dissolve dry milk in water and add to mix. Mix to form very firm dough that is smooth and workable. Cover and let rest 15-20 min. Roll to 1/2 in thick. Cut out biscuits with 3″ bone cookie cutter. PLace on baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Bake at 375 for 40 min until brown and hard. Let cool and store.
